What this is

A toy that records your voice and mangles it. Everything happens on your phone. Nothing is uploaded, there is no account, and there is no server keeping your recordings.

How to work it

  1. Tap the big red button and talk. Tap it again to stop. Twelve seconds is the limit.
  2. Pick one of the twenty silly voices, or skip that and go straight to the knobs.
  3. Tap PLAY IT to hear the damage. PLAIN plays your real voice.
  4. SAVE writes a wav file you can send to anyone.

Presets are a starting point, not a lock. Picking one loads the knobs, then you keep twisting from there.

Best trick in the box: turn LOOP on, then twist knobs while it runs. Your voice re-mangles on every pass and you never touch PLAY again.

What each knob does

PITCHMoves the note up or down without changing how long it lasts.
SPEEDChanges how long it lasts without moving the note.
ROBOTRing modulation. Metallic and clangy.
BUZZ HZTunes the robot tone. Low is a rumble, high is a wasp.
CRUNCHThrows away bits until you sound like a 1988 talking toy.
GROWLDistortion. Adds dirt and teeth.
TONELeft is muffled and dark. Right is thin and tinny.
WOBBLEWarbles the tape like a dying cassette.
ECHORepeats that fade out behind you.
ROOMReverb. How big the room sounds.
WOOZYLets the speed drift around on its own. Seasick.
HICCUPChops the audio into grains and stutters them.

Double tap any knob to send it back to normal. SCRAMBLE THE KNOBS throws everything at random, which is usually how the good ones get found.

If something misbehaves

No sound on playback: check the ringer switch on the side of your phone. Recording gets refused: your browser needs microphone permission, and it will only ask on a real tap.
